What are my goals?

My educational goal is to attend an accredited university and achieve a master’s or a doctorate degree, and to graduate with High Honors, Summa Cum Laude. I will attain a degree with a major in film with a minor in business (if not a double major). I intend to pursue a career in directing and producing in the film industry, with a focus on historical projects.

Why have I chosen film?

Throughout the course of history, there has always been one primary goal of the developing society; to innovate. It is easy to see why one might choose film for a profession, as it utilizes the finest developments of modern technology and blends it with the artistic freedom that it permits. To be in film, one possesses the role of a storyteller; painting a picture of the technical advancements, professionalism in acting, and nuances of our culture as we know them in our current day, leaving a time capsule of today’s culture. The concept of auteur theory, amongst others, paints a fascinating history of development of human expression. A career in film is not only a profession that creates art, but it is a profession that evokes the beauty that is in humanity and emotion. This is why I have chosen film.

What are some of my accomplishments?

My short films, along with several instructional videos regarding insights relative to sewing and cooking, demonstrate my interest in filmmaking. In addition, my time as a Technical Theater Apprentice and Summer Apprentice at the Straz Center for Performing Arts has afforded me the ability to expand the scope of my knowledge in this field.

My photographic pursuits have led to multiple awards from the Florida State Fair.

What are my interests aside from film?

My musical pursuits involve studies in Piano, Guitar, Violin, voice (opera), Lyre, Harmonica, and Clarinet. I also have a passion to learn about the impacts of music throughout time. I am also an involved member of a rowing team (Team Tampa), where I practice my skills as a varsity coxswain and rower. In addition, I have also studied art and its application for over ten years, with some of my work winning accolades and first place at the Florida State Fair. With foreign languages, I am highly interested in pursuing further studies in French, German, Chinese, and Latin. In addition, I take a personal interest in sewing and needle arts, such as dressmaking, costumery, embroidery, and historical fashion, and I frequently exercise those skills, also placing first place in competitions at the Florida State Fair. I also enjoy holding and utilizing my membership as a Young Eagle. Finally, I take joy in reading the classics of literature.
